Graciela Beltran, "La Reina Del Pueblo", was born on December 29 in a small town of Sinaloa, Mexico named Costa Rica. She was a precocious and very charming girl, possessing a wonderful talent, but nobody imagined that one day she would turn into one of the most important music figures.

At a very early age, she started to show an interest in music, often singing for her neighborhoods. At age 6, she started performing professionally with great acceptance by Los Angeles residents, a city were her family migrated to in search for the American dream.

With no doubt, for Gracielita Beltran (how she was known), her dreams became a reality when she recorded her first albums (accompanied by Banda, Mariachi and Norteno). Soon after a very important Record Company (EMI Latin) discovered her great talent and produced her album "Baraja de Oro," album that soon became her first Gold Album and shortly after her first Platinum Album.

1995, the year of Graciela Beltran

During 1995, Graciela Beltran recorded her album "Tesoro" and in a very short time, her sales tripled not only in the United States, but in Mexico as well. The demand for personal appearances in both countries was incredible! Her participation was requested in very important International Television shows like: Sabado Gigante, Siempre en Domingo, Festival Acapulco and many more.

La Reina del Pueblo

Right after the album that featured Graciela's hits and those of the deceased Selena named "Las Reinas del Pueblo," she became known not only by the press, but also by her fans as "La Reina del Pueblo" (Queen of the people) a nickname that she still carries with pride.

A Great Career

5 films, 13 recorded albums, duets with Ednita Nazario and Emilio Navaira in the 1996 Olympics album "Voces Unidas." The sound track of Selena's movie with Barrio Boys, Bobby Pulido and others; and more important duets with Los Tucanes de Tijuana and Grupo Modelo, are only a few of her achievements. Producers are also a very important part of Graciela Beltran's career. Thanks to the new technology, Juan Carlos Calderon was able to produce a duet with the deceased Nat King Cole. K.C. Porter produced "Por Siempre Unidos" song of the 1996 Olympics. Bebu Silvetty produced the album "Tuya," Joan Sebastian produced "Robame un Beso" and her albums with Banda: "Tesoro," "Mi Corazon es tuyo," "La Reina del Pueblo con Banda," "Grandes y Nuevos Exitos I and II" were produced by Roberto Guadarrama. With no doubt, her career has been solid and full of important achievements, like being nominated for three consecutive years for Premio Lo Nuestro, and her recent nomination for the first Latin Grammy Awards; countless number of important recognitions, but most of all, her greatest achievements is the wonderful acceptance and love of her fans, as well as the respect of the press.
